Starfield on PS5? Second Expansion Rumored to Usher in Multi-Platform Release

The whispers have become a roar. Starfield on PlayStation 5? It's the gaming equivalent of a close-encounter, and the evidence, while circumstantial, is mounting. While official confirmation remains locked away in an Xbox vault, insider murmurings suggest that a second Starfield expansion, due in 2025, could be the cosmic key that unlocks Bethesda’s space opera for PlayStation gamers.

Shattered Space: A Missed Launch Window for PS5?

Tom Warren, speaking on the Xbox Two podcast, ignited the speculation engines with a tantalizing revelation: a PS5 version of Starfield was allegedly planned to coincide with the Shattered Space expansion's release in September 2024. "They were originally going to do it with that expansion, and then I don't know what happened there," Warren teased, adding that a PS5 version is supposedly primed and ready. This has fueled the fiery theory that Starfield's second expansion, anticipated in 2025, will be the chosen vessel to deliver the game to PlayStation’s orbit. Phil Spencer, the enigmatic head of Xbox, remains characteristically silent, letting the speculation reach supernova levels.

Halo on PlayStation: A Covenant Betrayed?

The same podcast also tackled the persistent rumors of Halo: The Master Chief Collection gracing PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Sadly, Warren played the Arbiter of disappointment, stating, "I don't know if it's going to be [the] collection," hinting at a more fragmented approach. His cryptic allusion to earlier reports on "the CE stuff" points towards a potential Halo: Combat Evolved remake as a more likely scenario. So while some Halo splinters might reach other platforms, the full might of the Master Chief saga remains firmly entrenched in Xbox territory. A potential Starfield PS5 launch isn't just a big deal; it's a celestial body impact. It would represent the largest Xbox exclusive to date to cross the platform Rubicon, aligning with Microsoft's increasingly open-border policy towards its first-party titles. With games like Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Pentiment already charting courses for PlayStation, the Xbox ecosystem seems to be transitioning from a walled garden to a sprawling galactic federation. Is Starfield on PS5 an inevitability? Will 2025 be the year we finally witness this cosmic crossover? Only time will tell. Until then, the anticipation burns brighter than a thousand suns.
